Musicians

PorchFest hosts artists across all genres including Celtic, Bluegrass, Rock, Jazz, and more. The festival runs from 1:30 to 5:00, in two sets with a half hour break between sets.

Wellfleet PorchFest takes place on the Saturday before Labor Day weekend. There are TWO (2) 90 minutes sets per porch with 30 minute break in between. Bands are scheduled for one set.

The Wellfleet Porchfest organizing committee assigns musicians to porches and makes every effort to reduce sound contamination from one porch to another. Wherever possible musicians are given contact information for their assigned porches and encouraged to check in with their hosts before the festival.

Amplification Policy

Porchfest is an acoustic music festival. The organizers believe that music is best experienced without the enhancement of amplification. There are a couple of exceptions. If you play piano you can plug it in. If it’s necessary to amplify your voice, that’s ok, too.

To maintain the vision of the festival as an acoustic community event and still allow for diverse styles to participate, a limited number of performers who request permission to amplify beyond the stipulation above will be assigned to porches designated in advance for amplified bands. Bands will be chosen for these positions at the discretion of the organizers.

Transgressors of the amplification policy will be removed from our lists and will not be asked to participate in the future.
